Where we are now!

Hello There,

Sorry it's been a long while since we posted on this blog!
As the Modern Alchemists we are more active than ever, running an artspace in the centre of Cardiff called 'The Abacus'. You can follow updates on the space at facebook.com/theabacusrooms or on our blog theabacusroom.wordpress.com.

We are holding a large festival fundraising day with an Art Auction, Jumble sale, food, drinks, workshops, live music and MORE on Saturday 9th May, from 1pm - 1am and you're alllll invited!

We are also still looking for donation for our Art-Auction and Jumble sale - if you think you can help - please get in touch!

Empty Walls 2014

We are pleased to announce we will be running another Empty Walls, this year we will be infiltrating the City centre, inviting over 15 local and international artists to come and share their work with the public! The festival will run from the 21st September until the 25th of October with support from both Cardiff Contemporary and Made in Roath.
This year the theme is 'Folk' and all of our artists will be taking inspiration, however big or small, from the strange and intriguing stories and artefacts that lie beneath welsh and british culture.

We are working away finalising all of our artists and walls for this years festival so watch this space!
In the mean time we are still collecting some match funding for our festival, the more we can raise the bigger we can go! So if you fancy throwing us some coppers and getting your self some great festival merch, including ltd. edition prints, t-shirts & more check out our Kick starter.
